NON-TIMBER FOREST PRODUCTS

Non-Timber Forest Products are handcrafted, cultivated materials obtained from the forests which are created by the Guatemalan community in the Peten. These products beyond the aesthetic carry significance of livelihood and sustaintability.

FORESTS

Arguably, the forests cannot be protected over the long term without the consent and support of local inhabitants. Therefore, the community forest concessions purposefully link the economic viability of local communities with the conservation of biodiversity.

PEOPLE

The people from the forest are the key contributors and stakeholders who have worked with non-timber forest products and who have contributed to the growth of the community concessions. For these people, what they do day to day provides more than a paycheck. Their work defines their identity and their livelihood.

WHY BUY FROM CONCESSIONS?

Buying from the concessions you support local businesses and community livelihood. All proceeds are redistributed back to the forests which will help restore the habitat. Those products are not found anywhere else in the world.

WHO WE ARE

Over the years many institutions and organizations have joined forces to work together for conservation and development in forests. Our partners define our role in protecting the forests and people.
